open letter to Facebook

Mr. Facebook, you celebrate 2 billion users, but I am completely unsatisfied by the buttons/ emoticons available in the bottom bar. I am talking about like, love, haha, wow, sad, angry buttons. If you do something do it well. How could I manage with only 5 emoticons? I have more feelings and I can’t express them using only 5 emoticons. I think it would be better to have only like button, I use it when I like something and I don’t use it when I don’t like it. It would be easier. I know there are many lists of emoticons but every time I need one I waste time looking for it and I am bound to post it as a comment. In the same time I have to choose one of those 5 emoticons in order to appreciate that post in any way. Mr. Facebook, my intention is to

thank you!

I can’t believe it, you are more than a few friends of mine who know about this blog and read it, some people are curious, others for my pleasure, others for their pleasure. I haven’t thought that what I write here is so interesting for you. I have started the blog because of a huge frustration; I could not scream what had happened to me and because screaming was impossible, I started to write my thoughts. The truth is that writing is my strength, my essays in school were appreciated by the teachers and I wanted to follow the philology courses but it was hard for me to stay and deepen the knowledge, I am active and logic. And I have thought it is time to follow my pleasure of writing. I don’t know if I do it well or not, the truth is that I like it and I

November 30 – Jonathan Swift, Mark Twain, Winston Churchill, Billy Idol birthadays

Which name should I start with? I think the right method is the chronological order.  Maybe an enumeration would be useful too: Jonathan Swift, Mark Twain, Winston Churchill, Billy Idol. You will tell me now that Billy Idol has no place among the others; my answer is: I think that each one of them with his business in his time. Jonathan Swift 1667 – Jonathan Swift is known especially for his novel “Gulliver’s Travels”. I was fascinated by this novel, I read it with the flashlight under the covers late in the night, excited to discover each adventure and of course the end of the story. The animated movie, produced in 1939, is very well made and very funny.  I’ve watched the movie with a great pleasure (because I’ve tried to find it on internet to post it on my blog), although I am not a child anymore. If you

shopping in Cardiff – part II

Today I’ll tell you about Poundland. I don’t know how I’ve forgotten the first time I’ve written about shopping to mention Poundland or Poundworld.  As its name says anything you buy is 1 Pound or 1£ (GBP). Call it whatever you want. There are 2 Poundland and 1 Poundworld in Cardiff, in the area where I live. Poundland chain has more stores than Poundworld, they sell almost the same things, except for a few differences. When I want to buy something I go to all the 3 stores and it is almost impossible not to find what I want even in one store  🙂 What do you find in these stores? Just about anything you want, less clothing. There are only a few things for kids: socks, gloves etc. Cosmetics: all kinds of cosmetics, deodorants, hair dye products, perfumes not originals but the design of the boxes and the bottles

95% reasons to leave Romania vs 5% reasons to live in Romania

I L Caragiale: “There is nothing in the world that could convince me to leave this foreign life corner (Berlin) and come back in my country (Romania). To see again what I‘ve seen, to suffer again for what I’ve suffered, the same faces, the same fossils leading the public life, poisoning our souls with their stupid and suspicious looks, the same jurors intentionally losing lawsuits or giving unfair verdicts. No my dear friend, no. I’ve exiled myself and that’s all. I like this place, I am content with my family and I think I do not belong anymore to a country where flattery and theft are virtues and work and talent are worthy of pity.” I don’t know how I should begin this article. It’s almost 1 year since I’ve decided to study in UK. So I live in UK most of the time. And I like it very much.

back to school in Cardiff

school has started on September 28th. I have come back in Cardiff; sincerely I couldn’t wait because, although school means essays, many things to learn, preparing for courses, I like this place. I like school although I am not crazy about essays, but I learn a lot of interesting things. I have many friends from all over the world. Not real friends, let’s say colleagues, because I think that real friend means someone who is always by your side not only physically speaking, he is the one who helps you in need, unconditional. If you have in a life time real friends and their number is greater than the number of your fingers from one hand, you are happy. But let‘s get back to school and my friends in Wales ( I prefer to call them friends not colleagues). the first friend My first friend I met here is from

shopping in Cardiff – part I

I hope you will like this article, do not believe anymore that England (in fact, UK)  is an expensive country. If you stay a long time, as I do, and if you have time to visit Malls, Shopping Centers, you can find the most advantageous things for you, regarding price, sizes, etc. Firstly, I will mention that I don’t go to Zara, Mango – they are in Romania too and they have the same prices (but here these prices don’t seem to be so high comparing with their income; this does not happen in Romania). I go to New Look and Marks and Spencer, English brands and here the clothing differs from what we find in Romania at the same brands. I buy from Mark and Spencer when they have big discounts because this brand clothing is expensive. But let’s take a look, I will tell you what seems to

how much is the student accommodation in the UK

The accommodation can be cheap or expensive, for the Romanians income, it is expensive. It varies between 200 (minimum) and 600 GBP (I won’t talk about more than 600 GBP because the subject is the student life not holiday). If your budget do not allow you more, you can find something for 200 GBP – a house with bedrooms – rent together with a few colleagues. It’s true that in the first year when you come here, you don’t have many friends, but you can find places in this type of houses. The inconvenience is that you don’t know the others, if they are troublemakers, or if they like cleaning their place; in this type of house there is only one bathroom for 3-4 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms for 5-6 bedrooms. The problem is that girls need the bathroom more than the boys (some girls more than other girls) and

Mihela Radulescu

From my point of view Mihaela is, above all, an extraordinary woman. And I say that not only because I have been invited to several TV shows hosted by her (I was in backstage), but also because I witnessed  a video shooting directed by her, having the opportunity of talking to her in her room, on backstage. And I saw Mihaela Radulescu as she is, as human been, not only as TV personality. the TV shows I cannot say I’ve outlined an opinion about her after those TV shows. What I noticed, with no doubt, was her flawless body, very beautiful, that beauty of strong people, those who know what they want, who have succeeded in life; with a short dialogue, strictly on subject, very direct and firm in the same time. She has a very beautiful body, sculpted at the gym, sincerely I think she has exaggerated with her

how much does a student spend on transport per month in the UK

Let’s see! In Romania, as in many countries, students use the transport, but much of them don’t buy tickets, I don’t know what the others do. I haven’t used the transport for years. But here, it’s different. It seems that the train is the most used mean of transport, it has stations in every town. It’s like a high speed tram, but it’s a train, Arriva Train Wales, it’s not luxury, but it is clean and civilized, I use it to go to University in Treforest, 4 stations. Usually, a ticket costs 6.80 GBP, it is expensive, but let’s see why. Firstly, you don’t seem to be embarrassed if you don’t have ticket. But let’s see how you can buy it; there are ticket machines in almost every station, especially in the big cities, you can buy it by cash or using the card. If the train comes and you
