A few interesting things about Saint Nicholas

It’s been a long time since my childhood has past but I still feel that feeling of joy and fun before Christmas. I like the Christmas decorations and the Christmas tree is  present in my house every year, each corner of my house is decorated.  I like buying gifts for my family and friends, thinking of everyone wishes. I like packing them nicely and I put all of them under the tree. And it would be even nicer if it would snow on Christmas eve 🙂 It is said that: Winter really begins on Saint Nicholas Day. This character comes on a white horse, the symbol of the snow in December, and when he comes he shakes off his beard and if it doesn’t snow on 6th of December, it’s said that the Saint has rejuvenated. Saint Nicholas brings secret gifts for children, the tradition is to hang up socks

Anytime I visit a place, a country, I like to explore and discover the places, people, their traditions, food, everything that is new for me. And I recommend you to explore everything, food, drink, sex, customs, culture, games, music, work, fun, anything you can. In this way you will have more experience, knowledge, you should try new tastes, new feelings, live every moment in different way, and break the daily routine. You will find a lot of wonderful things that deserve to be experienced. It’s true that sometimes you can fail but this means also experience. So, just experience the Halloween 🙂 during the day So let’s go to Cardiff and Halloween. Firstly, many events have been inside the Cardiff Castle all this week; today and tomorrow is The Highwayman, an interactive show, that attracts many tourists and not only. I took part in the hunting together with the masked

shopping in Cardiff – III – Victoria’s Secret

Victoria ‘s Secret I don’t need any introduction to this article 🙂  Here, in  this store, is a delirium, a madness. Don’t miss this store if you go to Cardiff, London or anywhere in UK – there are 18 stores. Do not miss it, it should be on your list. Not only museums, castles, etc. You should visit Victoria’s Secret store too. You will say I am a paranoid person, but I am not. I would have thought the same if someone would have told me before about the store. It happened some time ago, when a friend of mine, whenever she returned from USA, was very excited about Victoria ’s Secret. Yes, ok, I listened to her, I didn’t understand what could be so excited in a store full of bras, panties and cosmetics, I let her enjoy it, I listened but that was all. On the other hand,

open letter to Facebook

Mr. Facebook, you celebrate 2 billion users, but I am completely unsatisfied by the buttons/ emoticons available in the bottom bar. I am talking about like, love, haha, wow, sad, angry buttons. If you do something do it well. How could I manage with only 5 emoticons? I have more feelings and I can’t express them using only 5 emoticons. I think it would be better to have only like button, I use it when I like something and I don’t use it when I don’t like it. It would be easier. I know there are many lists of emoticons but every time I need one I waste time looking for it and I am bound to post it as a comment. In the same time I have to choose one of those 5 emoticons in order to appreciate that post in any way. Mr. Facebook, my intention is to

thank you!

I can’t believe it, you are more than a few friends of mine who know about this blog and read it, some people are curious, others for my pleasure, others for their pleasure. I haven’t thought that what I write here is so interesting for you. I have started the blog because of a huge frustration; I could not scream what had happened to me and because screaming was impossible, I started to write my thoughts. The truth is that writing is my strength, my essays in school were appreciated by the teachers and I wanted to follow the philology courses but it was hard for me to stay and deepen the knowledge, I am active and logic. And I have thought it is time to follow my pleasure of writing. I don’t know if I do it well or not, the truth is that I like it and I

November 30 – Jonathan Swift, Mark Twain, Winston Churchill, Billy Idol birthadays

Which name should I start with? I think the right method is the chronological order.  Maybe an enumeration would be useful too: Jonathan Swift, Mark Twain, Winston Churchill, Billy Idol. You will tell me now that Billy Idol has no place among the others; my answer is: I think that each one of them with his business in his time. Jonathan Swift 1667 – Jonathan Swift is known especially for his novel “Gulliver’s Travels”. I was fascinated by this novel, I read it with the flashlight under the covers late in the night, excited to discover each adventure and of course the end of the story. The animated movie, produced in 1939, is very well made and very funny.  I’ve watched the movie with a great pleasure (because I’ve tried to find it on internet to post it on my blog), although I am not a child anymore. If you

shopping in Cardiff – part II

Today I’ll tell you about Poundland. I don’t know how I’ve forgotten the first time I’ve written about shopping to mention Poundland or Poundworld.  As its name says anything you buy is 1 Pound or 1£ (GBP). Call it whatever you want. There are 2 Poundland and 1 Poundworld in Cardiff, in the area where I live. Poundland chain has more stores than Poundworld, they sell almost the same things, except for a few differences. When I want to buy something I go to all the 3 stores and it is almost impossible not to find what I want even in one store  🙂 What do you find in these stores? Just about anything you want, less clothing. There are only a few things for kids: socks, gloves etc. Cosmetics: all kinds of cosmetics, deodorants, hair dye products, perfumes not originals but the design of the boxes and the bottles

95% reasons to leave Romania vs 5% reasons to live in Romania

I L Caragiale: “There is nothing in the world that could convince me to leave this foreign life corner (Berlin) and come back in my country (Romania). To see again what I‘ve seen, to suffer again for what I’ve suffered, the same faces, the same fossils leading the public life, poisoning our souls with their stupid and suspicious looks, the same jurors intentionally losing lawsuits or giving unfair verdicts. No my dear friend, no. I’ve exiled myself and that’s all. I like this place, I am content with my family and I think I do not belong anymore to a country where flattery and theft are virtues and work and talent are worthy of pity.” I don’t know how I should begin this article. It’s almost 1 year since I’ve decided to study in UK. So I live in UK most of the time. And I like it very much.

back to school in Cardiff

school has started on September 28th. I have come back in Cardiff; sincerely I couldn’t wait because, although school means essays, many things to learn, preparing for courses, I like this place. I like school although I am not crazy about essays, but I learn a lot of interesting things. I have many friends from all over the world. Not real friends, let’s say colleagues, because I think that real friend means someone who is always by your side not only physically speaking, he is the one who helps you in need, unconditional. If you have in a life time real friends and their number is greater than the number of your fingers from one hand, you are happy. But let‘s get back to school and my friends in Wales ( I prefer to call them friends not colleagues). the first friend My first friend I met here is from

shopping in Cardiff – part I

I hope you will like this article, do not believe anymore that England (in fact, UK)  is an expensive country. If you stay a long time, as I do, and if you have time to visit Malls, Shopping Centers, you can find the most advantageous things for you, regarding price, sizes, etc. Firstly, I will mention that I don’t go to Zara, Mango – they are in Romania too and they have the same prices (but here these prices don’t seem to be so high comparing with their income; this does not happen in Romania). I go to New Look and Marks and Spencer, English brands and here the clothing differs from what we find in Romania at the same brands. I buy from Mark and Spencer when they have big discounts because this brand clothing is expensive. But let’s take a look, I will tell you what seems to
